How to detect the installation of the Web Player?

Issue
I would like to detect the installation of the Authorware Web Player on the end users machine.

Reason

If the Authorware Web Player is not detected I would like to redirect the user to another HTML page.

Solution
The following javascript will detect the installation of the Authorware Web Player on the end users machine. If the Authorware Web Player is not detected, it redirects the browser to another HTML page, which provides a link to the Authorware Web Player download page. If the Authorware Web Player Active-X control is not detected, it is downloaded from Macromedia.com. The script can be copied and pasted between the body tags of your HTML document. Text in the following script that is grey indicates a variable field. Substitute your file information in these fields.
