New York City-based creative director and senior visual effects/Henry artist Kieran Walsh of R!OT Manhattan (formerly Manhattan Transfer) took first prize as the North American regional winner of the International Quantel Artist of the Year Award. The announcement of the North American finalist concluded the selection of the competition's regional winners.



Asia Regional Finalist: Qi Zhi Tan of Beijing Galloping Horse Film and TV Production Co. (Beijing, China) for "West Lake Episode" for client China Zhejiang Television.




Australia/New Zealand Regional Finalists (tie): Kent Smith of Channel Seven (Sydney, Australia), who created the open for the broadcast of the Olympic Games on the network; Richard Grant of Showtime Australia (Sydney, Australia), who created the opening and closing titles for the network's broadcast of "The Director's Cut."




European Regional Finalist: Tomas Markl of Mirage (Prague, Czech Republic) for "Summer with Butterflies" for client TV Nova.



Latin American Regional Finalist: Francisco Arevalo of Rio (Santiago, Chile), who created a generic ID for client Canal 13 Cable.




South African Regional Finalist: Larissa Hollis, The Refinery (Johannesburg, South Africa) for "DSTV Airport" for client DSTV.




United Kingdom Regional Finalist: David Cornfield of 422 (Bristol, UK) for "Skyscrapers - Going Up" for client Archwelder Films.
