一个周日，一位女士带了一些听装可乐外出划船，并把可乐放到船上冰箱里。但
是，喝了这些可乐后，也就在第二天的周一，她就被送进了医院，并于周三死亡。


“A woman went boating one Sunday, taking with her some cans of coke which
she put in the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken into
clinic and Wednesday she died.



尸体解剖后发现是一种细螺旋体病（热带常见的一种细菌重症）导致她死亡的。正是
由于她直接从罐子饮用可乐而没有使用玻璃杯。一项测试表明，老鼠尿中含有细螺旋
体病的病毒。如果易拉罐被老鼠尿污染后，就会携带导致细螺旋体病的病毒。


The autopsy revealed a certain Leptospirosis (potentially serious bacterial
illness that is most common in the tropics) caused by the can of coke from
which she had drunk, not using a glass. A test showed that the can was
infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis. Rat urine
contains toxic and deathly substances.



另外一项在西班牙进行的研究还表明，听装饮料的罐子顶部受细菌和病毒的污染的程
度比公共厕所还高。因此饮用前用水冲洗罐子可以避免致命的事故。


A study in Spain showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated
than public toilets i.e. full of germs and bacteria. So to washing them
with water is advised before putting it to the mouth to avoid any kind of
fatal accident.”





所以我们建议大家在饮用听装碳酸饮料前，一定要将罐子的上半部分彻底清洗。因为
这些听装饮料在仓库存放并被运到商店后没有进行过清洗。当然，最好的办法是倒入
干净的杯子中或用吸管饮用。


It is highly recommended to wash thoroughly the upper part of soda cans
before drinking out of them as they have been stocked in warehouses and
transported straight to the shops without being cleaned. You’d better
always use a glass or a straw.
